The School of Medicine and Public Health is the largest of four Schools within the Faculty of Health and Medicine. The School's educational strengths are the Doctor of Medicine – Joint Medical Program (MD-JMP) and postgraduate programs in public health.  The School also has a strong research focus and works closely with the Central Coast Research Institute (CCRI) and Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI).

The research and educational programs have robust international links and opportunities, and the potential for growth of interprofessional learning and research. The Central Coast Clinical School (CCCS) is core to the JMP, coordinating clinical teaching and supervision for medical students across key clinical Disciplines in hospital, community and primary care settings. General Practice academics have a key role in primary care and community placements. From 2020 it is anticipated that students will be placed at the CCCS across all five years of the curriculum.

Based at the Central Coast Clinical School (CCCS) and co-located at Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) sites, the principal teaching locations are Gosford and Wyong Hospitals, with responsibilities extending across all JMP locations.

This is a part time position working 4 days per week however a job share arrangement will also be considered.

How will you inspire us?  

Contributing towards three domains of academic work within the School of Medicine and Public Health: Research and Innovation, Teaching and Learning, and Service and Engagement, you will be responsible for the teaching and assessment of undergraduate medical students, while furthering the development of the new medical program and participating in research and appropriate administrative duties.

With a strong focus on Integrated Health Care and the health priorities of the Central Coast community, you will be able to demonstrate a commitment to engaging and collaborating with clinicians and health services towards improvements in health care and in addition will maintain strong links with academic educators and researchers at the University.

As a key member of an academic team based within the CCCS you will work collaboratively with the Clinical Dean at CCCS to achieve growth and sustainability of research and medical education programs, and to foster a strong partnership with the Central Coast Primary Health Network (CCPHN).

In addition, you will hold membership as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), a related Postgraduate (PhD) qualification and possess teaching experience within a higher education environment.
